Our History: Proudly Rooted in Wisconsin

Uptown Motors began its journey in 1946, when Irv and Ray Pentler, along with their partner William Lutter, returned from World War II and opened a used car dealership at 57th and Center Street in Milwaukee. Just nine years later, in 1955, the business expanded into a Lincoln Mercury dealership at 6734 W. North Avenue. As demand grew, the Pentler brothers moved the franchise in 1966 to its current flagship location at 2111 North Mayfair Road in Wauwatosa, where it continues to serve the greater Milwaukee area with dedication and pride.

In 1978, Irv's son Glenn Pentler joined the business, marking the next generation of family leadership. Uptown expanded once again in 1991, bringing Chevrolet, Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and RAM to Washington County and opening additional locations to meet the needs of Wisconsin drivers across Slinger, Wauwatosa, Milwaukee, West Allis, Brookfield, Menomonee Falls, Waukesha, Germantown, Hartford, Mequon, and surrounding communities.

Today, Uptown Motors is proud to be a multi-brand, full-service automotive group offering new vehicles, used cars, parts, service, and collision repair-while remaining family-owned and customer-focused.
